What I Ate Last Week on Trim Healthy Mama plan

Since I began eating a la Trim Healthy Mama™, I’ve been keeping a food diary. I highly recommend this practice. I’ll also be sharing what I ate here. Hopefully it will help people new to THM see that you can eat whatever you love, and you don’t need to feel deprived – I eat plenty of food, typically 4-5 times a day.

Items marked with an * asterisk are from the Trim Healthy Mama cookbook.

(cheat day)

I had my first “cheat meal” since starting Trim Healthy Mama. Saturday my mom cooked a Low Country Boil. I didn’t eat the potatoes and corn, but I did have a small portion of a dessert she made. It had gluten-free pretzels as a crust, a layer of cream cheese, and berries in gelatin on top. The pretzels aren’t on plan so that was the cheat part. The part I ate wasn’t sweetened, so I’m proud of myself for staying sugar-free!

The scale hasn’t moved in two weeks for me, so I think my body is in maintenance mode until I stop breastfeeding. My typical pattern is that the last 5 pounds doesn’t come off until I wean the baby, so I won’t be surprised if my weight stays the same.

It IS lovely to be able to eat things like cheesecake, volcano mud slide muffins and chocolate without fear of gaining weight though! So I’m not complaining. If I had been prepared with an on-plan dessert, I would not have eaten the cheat dessert Saturday night. Next time, I’ll ask if I can bring dessert. 🙂
