What I ate last week on Trim Healthy Mama plan

Since I began eating a la Trim Healthy Mama™, I’ve been keeping a food diary. I highly recommend this practice. I’ll also be sharing it here every week. Hopefully it will help people new to THM see that you can eat whatever you love, and you don’t need to feel deprived.

Items marked with an * asterisk are from the Trim Healthy Mama cookbook.

I don’t have a weight loss to report, I’ve been holding steady at the same weight for nearly a month, but I do have a “Non-Scale Victory”. My kids (all 7 of them) have been sick with a terrible virus that, for the oldest turned to bronchitis, and for the youngest, double ear infections. My kids are typically very healthy, and when they do catch something, they’re down for two days, tops. This crud has been severe – everyone was glued to bed for a week, they all stopped eating.

But I’ve stayed well. I took the oldest and youngest to Urgent Care, and the Doctor remarked that I must have a “strong resistance”, since I haven’t fallen ill with everyone around me sick. I told him I don’t eat sugar. His response? “That probably has a lot to do with it!”

I’m convinced that being on a sugar-free diet, along with the sippers (The Shrinker and Goodgirl Moonshine both contain ingredients known to boost immunity) has kept me well. I’m so thankful, because I don’t know how I would have managed if I had become sick along with the kids.

Note: the Almond Butter Fudge recipe was outstanding. I got it from Chocolate Covered Katie. While many of her recipes are sweetened with stevia, this one wasn’t. I used 2 Tablespoons Trim Healthy Mama Gentle Sweet and followed the recipe. It came out perfect. Such a nice little treat and so healthy!

The Peanut Butter Fudge Cake, a recipe by THM blogger A Home with Purpose, was so decadent! I immediately froze half of it so I wouldn’t be tempted to overeat! This one is very rich, and very delicious. A definite favorite.
